COVID - 19

Consignment intake.

UPDATE: At this time we are halting the drop off ability until further notice. We respect our procedures in place are sufficient, but want to ensure that everyone feels as safe as possible in our shop. We may move to scheduled drop offs in the future.

We know that the virus can stay on surfaces for a while. Due to this, we have opted to place all incoming dresses on a "cooling period" where they will be placed in zippered bags upon arrival and not be added to the shelves right away. This will allow for any coughs or sneezes from the outside world to have "died off" before being added to current stock.

Based on Ontario Enacting a Declaration of Emergency on March 17, 2020 Second Story Wedding Shop is moving to its online shop and limiting appointments in an effort to do their part of engaging in social distancing.

Ontario Enacts Declaration of Emergency

We have found this tip sheet on an Ontario website. We have been following it at home and in the shop. We wanted to share it with all our guests to help ensure we are all as germ free as possible.

Cleaning and Disinfection Tips

There is an increased risk of more severe outcomes for Canadians:

  • aged 65 and over
  • with compromised immune systems
  • with underlying medical conditions

It is not without fear for our future; but with our feeling of social responsibility, that we are closing our physical doors for a minimum of 14 days. We want to do our part in social distancing as well as keep our shop, guests and families as germ free as possible. We recognize for "most" people this will not be more than a common cold. However, for the rest, as well as the health care system, we need to do what we can. We hope if everyone does what they can we can flatten the curve and get back to life as pre COVID-19. We feel for all the couples who's wedding plans are and may be affected by this virus and hope our actions may reduce the length that we struggle with the virus to create the smallest impact as possible. Thank you for your understanding, and please check out our online shop in the meantime!

Online Shopping.

In an effort to promote social distancing and providing our piece of social responsibility during the period of time that  the population is requested to stay home as much as possible and adhere to social distancing we encourage our online channel. It is our goal to have the online shopping completely up and running by end of day! If you are local we will have an option that we can deliver items at the end of day directly to your  home. (Save postage) We are also planning on being in the shop until all inventory is uploaded therefore we are happy to connect remotely and show you the specific items so you can assess it's exact condition.  You know we only offer quality products; so you can shop with less risk than on other sites.

Upload Inventory.

We are working hard to get our online inventory updated as quickly as possible to allow people the ability to shop from home. As each item is unique this is taking much longer than anticipated, but this is a focus of our day to help you shop from the comfort of your home. You know we only offer quality products; so you can shop with less risk.

For helping keep yourselves, our guests and our families as germ free as possible!
